CLOUD ATLAS!

I recently watched a film called "Cloud Atlas", which shows the impact individual lives have on one another in the past, present and future as one sole is shaped from a killer into a hero and how an act of kindness can ripple through centuries to inspire a revolution. The stories are set in the Pacific Islands 1849, Scotland 1936, San Francisco 1973, London 2012, Neo Seoul 2144 and after the fall 2321, but all the same actors are disguised with make-up to portray different characters in each story.

LOOKING FORWARD - TRENDS 2014

It's a new year and that always means there's more make-up to look forward to, some styles carry over, others have minor changes and a few are completely different. Here's some upcoming spring/summer 2014 trends.

Skin-

Bronzed, golden skin is coming back but this time with eyes as well as brows.

"Raw beauty" is also a big skin thing this year but less than even before, no mascara, eye shadow or lipstick just a little of concealer for a completely natural look.

Eyes-

Light washes of colour across the eye adds to the effortless look, which has a kind of summer-y grunge feel.

Striking black liner just never quite goes away, not that we want it to mind you.

Lips-

Bright matte lips, which are my absolute favourite type!

Nails-

Nail art has been big for a while but it's here to stay, at least for another year.

While you're in the fashion catwalk mood, I must urge you to check out Vivienne Westwood's gold label spring/summer 2014. I love it as the looks are all wacky but beautiful at the same time (both make-up and fashion) and also supports a serious message.
